Over a year until your big day!
It’s never too early to start planning! Have you started?
STEP 1: FINALIZE THE GUEST LIST
You booked your venue, so you have an approximate number of guests. It’s never too early to start gathering information to send your invites (First Name, Last Name, Mailing Address).
STEP 2: SET YOUR BUDGET
Figure out how much your reception will cost you based on your number of guests, then start budgeting for the rest, including:
• Ceremony venue
• Bride’s attire (dress, jewelry, shoes, alterations)
• Groom’s attire (suit, shoes)
• Beauty appointments
• Wedding bands
• Decor and rentals
• Stationary (save-the-dates, invitations, menu cards, seating chart, etc)
• Entertainment (DJ, band, MC, other)
• Photographer and videographer
• Day-Of Coordinator or Planner
• Gifts (bridal party, parents, guests)
STEP 3: START HIRING YOUR VENDORS!
Shop around, but don’t over-shop, it’ll simply make the process overwhelming. Once you get a good feeling for the vendor, and the price is right with your budget, book! And don’t second-guess yourself, it’ll be a long year!
YOU SHOULD ALSO BE THINKING ABOUT…
• Engagement Party
The engagement party should fall within 6 months of the proposal or at least one year before the wedding date – the excitement is still very much there, but the stress of the wedding planning has not yet begun.
Make it easy for your friends and family to choose perfect gifts by setting up a wedding registry! Opt for a traditional registry at a retail store, to stock your new home with everything from kitchen gear, to linens, to outdoor furniture, and everything in between! Or, opt for the newest trend, a honeyfund registry, to help plan the honeymoon of your dreams!
